The Faculty analyses current productivity gains along with sector experts

Businesspeople from a range of different fields discussed the benefits of Lean Management and how it responds to market trends.

On 17 May, members of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences’ University Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems organised a round table discussion entitled “Lean Management: Operational and Service Excellence in Times of Digital Transformation”.

The session featured the director of the Master’s Degree, Jasmina Berbegal and a host of experts, including Master’s Degree lecturer and Faurecia excellence system and productivity manager Joaquim Pozos, who, alongside Master’s Degree alumnus David Sepúlveda, presented the Italian automotive company and showed how Lean Management-based tools can help companies overcome complicated situations.

Former Master’s Degree student and operations manager at Amazon, Matteo Artero, then showed a video about the American company’s objectives, while alumnus Alina Postu explained how she has implemented what she learned in class. During her talk, Postu, who now works for Coty, pointed out that the in-class workshops helped her become a more effective and efficient team member.

Afterwards, Jordi Castells, director of operations at Moventia and Master’s Degree lecturer, offered a fresh perspective on ways to apply Lean Management, explaining, among other things, how to eliminate unnecessary processes.

The session also included the presence, in person or via video, of alumni Marco Demarchi, Vincenzo Bevilacqua, Giuseppe di Martino, Nicolò Martucci, Jordi Castells, Mariona Amat, Riccardo Gorla, Claudio PerettiItalgas, Carla De La Roja and Marçal Amado, a lecturer in the Master’s Degree.
