The Faculty of Education celebrates English Research Week 2017

This week the Faculty of Education celebrated English Research Week 2017, aimed at students taking a specialisation in English as part of their degree in Pre-Primary or Primary Education.

The talks dealt with practical issues focused on research into the English language such as workshops on reading comprehension skills and writing up academic article or how to refer to previous studies while avoiding plagiarism. The keys to undertake action-research projects in this field were also provided.

The sessions were given by professors teaching the specialisations in English for the bachelor’s degree in Primary and Pre-Primary Education. Invited speakers from other universities who presented their research in this area also participated: Núria Gavaldà, a phonetics lecturer from the department of English Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Carmen Pérez, a full professor of language acquisition in the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at Pompeu Fabra University. This year Laura Mullera, a graduate of the faculty, presented her Final Degree Project, entitled “Investigating Flexible Seating".
