The Faculty of Education organises the second English Research Week

The aim is to prepare the students to conduct research in English, as, at the end of the year, they will be required to write and submit their Final Degree Project in English.

The Faculty of Education recently organised the second English Research Week. This event targets Education students from the English specialisation, who are taught how to conduct research in this language ahead of the Final Degree Project (TFG), which they will write and submit at the end of the academic year.

The Research Week is structured in such a way that the students have two days of workshops on the research process, with particular emphasis on research-action. This is followed by two days in which lecturers from the English specialisation and a series of guest speakers present their research.

This year, the Faculty invited guest speakers from the UAB (Elisabet Pladevall and Núria Gavaldà), as well as Katarzyna Ożańska-Ponikwia, from Poland’s University of Bielsko-Biała. The latter spoke about the role of emotions and bilingualism.

In the words of Faculty lecturer Angélica Carlet, “it was a very positive and enriching activity for both the teachers and students”.
