The dean of the Faculty of Law, María Fernández, and lecturer Carmen M. Lázaro delivered two lectures at the International Congress on the Economics of Marriage and Relationship Crises, which took place between 29 September and 1 October in Jerez.
Congress participants discussed ways of handling the economic aspects of marriage during the marital relationship, as well as in the event of marital crisis or death of a spouse; issues which involve various aspects of the legal system.
During the congress, Dr María Fernández delivered a lecture entitled "Los aspectos económicos de guarda compartida en Cataluña" [The Economic Aspects of Joint Custody in Catalonia]. Dr Carmen María Lázaro, for her part, talked about "El contrato de seguro de la pensión alimenticia en el divorcio" [Insurance Contracts as Security for Maintenance in a Divorce].
The Congress was co-organised by the Civil Law Department at the UNED, the Faculty of Law at the University of Cadiz, the Association of Notaries Public of Andalusia and the Academy of Notaries Public of Seville.
