The first class of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Business Management graduates

On Tuesday, 11 June the graduation ceremony of the first class of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Business Management at UIC Barcelona took place. Students also had the opportunity to defend their final master’s degree projects

A total of fourteen students graduated in an event led by María Fernández Albizuri, lecturer of the Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences and the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Business Management, as well as coordinator of the final master’s degree projects. Four of the students are graduates of the bachelor’s degree.

The works presented were “PureVent Project”, by Emma Notario, Lluís Casanou, Marc Salazar and Guillermo Rafols; “Trago a Trago Project”, by Luis Botella, Eric Donaire and Carla Versloot; “Comfort Bridge Project”, by Irene Ortíz, Guillem Porta and Víctor Varguez, and “MigrAid Project”, by Emil Gaysin, Maria Katsiani, Guillem Loren and Marina Suso.

The panel was formed by Jorge Juan Fernández, director of Innovation at the Hospital Clínic; Ruth Risueño, director of Leukos; and Ignasi Belda, CEO of MiWEndo and lecturer of the Department of Basic Sciences at UIC Barcelona.

As reflected in the presentation of the final master’s degree projects, the programme is 100% in English and “prepares students to learn about the new business models within the biomedical sector, introducing the most innovative technical advances in products and providing them with the necessary knowledge for marketing them, while developing negotiation and business management skills”, stressed Sara Hernández, the coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Business Management.

The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Business Management is aimed at recent graduate students or young professionals who wish to focus their career on the pharmaceutical and biomedical industry.
