UIC Barcelona consolidates its classification among the best European universities and climbs positions in the QS World University Rankings: Europe

UIC Barcelona has consolidated its classification in the international  QS World University Rankings: Europe 2025, and climbs more than 10 positions in the general ranking, focused exclusively on European universities. It occupies position 374 out of 684 universities, and at a national level is in position 32 out of 44 universities.

Among the different indicators that make up this ranking, UIC Barcelona stands out in the indicator “faculty-student ratio”, as it occupies 1st position of the 44 Spanish universities. This indicator demonstrates the commitment that the University has in its teaching and learning mission, with the highest number of teaching staff per student.  Under the indicator “international student diversity”, UIC Barcelona is among the five best Spanish universities, ranking 4 out of 44 universities. This high proportion of international students and their diversity with respect to the total number of students demonstrates the global commitment of UIC Barcelona, which is evident in the higher positions of two of the indicators that make up this area: “inbound & outbound exchange students”.

The methodology of this new ranking analyses the university in its different areas of “Research”, “Employability”, “Learning”, “Global Commitment” and “Sustainability”, and especially focuses on exchange and internationalisation, two metrics considered fundamental in Europe. In this 2025 edition, the QS Ranking team analysed 17,400 publications (period 2018-2022) and 175.900 citations (period 2018-2023).

The Statistical Data Office and Rankings of UIC Barcelona aims to measure the performance of the different aspects of the University through data and evidence, allowing it to be visible both nationally and internationally through the social impact produced by rankings and listings.
