Three UIC Barcelona teachers named ‘Lawyer of the Year’ according to the Best Lawyers 2025 ranking
In total, nine lecturers from the Faculty of Law have been recognised by the prestigious international list that published its annual report recently
Bests Lawyers, the list that honours the most outstanding lawyers based on evaluation by their peers, has recognised nine lecturers from the Faculty of Law of UIC Barcelona in this new edition, three of whom also appear in the “Lawyer of the Year” category in Spain.
The lawyers recognised this year as ‘Lawyer of the Year’ are Javier Ragué, partner in Cuatrecasas, selected as ‘Best Lawyer in Family Law’; Miguel Vidal-Quadras Trias de Bes, de Vidal-Quadras & Ramón, as ‘Best Lawyer in Barcelona in Intellectual Property Law’, and Cristina Coca, partner of Cuatrecasas, ‘Best Lawyer in Barcelona of Probates and Estates’. The three lecturers teach classes in different degrees of the Faculty of Law: the Bachelor’s Degree in Law, the Master's Degree in Law and Procurement (MUAP) and the Master’s Degree in Taxation Law (MAF).
The report recognises the best lawyers by specialty and city and also highlights 202 professionals from all over the country as ‘the best lawyers’, with Barcelona and Madrid as the two cities with the top professionals.
Six other lecturers from the Faculty of Law were also included in this list: Xavier Amat, partner at AVQ, is lecturer of commercial law in the MUAP; Jordi de Juan, partner at Crowe, is lecturer of tax law in the bachelor’s degree; Tiziana Di Ciommo, director at PwC, is lecturer of procedural law in the bachelor’s degree and the MUAP; Nuria García Puigpelat, a partner at AVQ, is a lecturer of commercial law in the bachelor’s degree; Fernando Jaureguía, from AVQ, is lecturer of procedural law in the MUAP and Mª Jesús Parra, a partner at Crowe, is a lecturer of labour law in the MUAP.
The professionals recognised in the Best Lawyers list go through a rigorous evaluation process based on the opinion of their peers. Aspects such as experience, technical skill and prestige in the legal field are taken into account. This recognition not only highlights the personal excellence of the winners, but also the influence they have on legal practice within their areas of expertise.
