The Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry achieves the AQU certification of excellence for its academic and professional quality

The bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Dentistry becomes the only degree in dentistry in Catalonia to have this recognition granted by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) after a very thorough accreditation process

The accreditation process included a visit to the Faculty of Dentistry facilities at the Sant Cugat campus by an external committee on 17 June 2024, which, after a thorough evaluation, highlighted the main strengths of the degree as being the professional links of the Faculty, which establishes a direct connection with the professional sector and enriches the training; the excellence of the clinical teaching, thanks to the first-class facilities and the outstanding learning results of the students; as well as the orientation and high rate of employment among the students.

The large number of applications to study the Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry at UIC Barcelona, a reflection of the interest and prestige of the degree; and the University's commitment to talent, helping young people with limited economic resources to access the degree through grants and financial aid, were other strengths identified by the AQU Catalunya evaluation committee.

As such, the Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry from UIC Barcelona is currently the only degree in Catalonia with this accreditation of progress towards excellence, as can be found on the official portal of Estudis Universitaris de Catalunya (University Studies in Catalonia - EUC).

Official recognition of proprietary master's degrees: one more step towards international academic excellence

As of this academic year, five of the Faculty of Dentistry's own master's degrees have been recognised as official master's degrees at national level. This important step forward consolidates the quality and prestige of the Faculty's educational offerings, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and its global reach.

“As those responsible for training future dentists, we are very proud of this recognition, which not only endorses the quality of the programme, but also motivates us to carry on working on continuous improvement and the consolidation of an academic offering of excellence,” explains Dr Lluís Giner, dean of the Faculty.
