On 10 November, our Sant Cugat campus hosted the welcome session for family members of new students from the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This event allowed them to see the facilities and classrooms their children will study in at first hand.  

 

The event, which for the first time was held entirely on our Sant Cugat campus, saw high levels of participation. More than 123 families attended, twice last year’s numbers.   

 

After presenting the various degree programmes taught on both faculties, families attending the event participated in a guided tour around the Sant Cugat facilities.  The families were able to visit some of the most important areas of the campus such as the University Dental Clinic, equipped with the latest dental technologies in 80 general boxes, 2 boxes for special patients and 6 boxes for surgeries; the Surgical and Functional Anatomy Unit, the Bone Library, the Biomedical Laboratory or the Comprehensive Advanced Simulation Centre, etc.  

 

At the end of the event the General Secretary of the university, Belén Castro, and the Vice-Rector for the University Community, Dr Belén Zárate dedicated a few words to the attendees, who were highly receptive to this event.
