The Institute for Multilingualism presents its findings at ICLHE 2017

Helena Roquet, Joan Ploettner, Monica Clua and Noelia Navarro recently took part in the International Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education Conference (ICLHE 2017), a renowned event in the field of research on language teaching in higher education.

During the conference, the director of the Institute, Dr Helena Roquet, delivered a lecture on “The Effects of English-Medium Instruction (EMI) Programmes in Higher Education: The Case of Morphosyntax in Economics Undergraduates".

Later on, Joan Ploettner, a member of the teaching staff in the Institute’s Third Languages Office, presented the poster "Emerging Tensions in Interdisciplinary Collaboration for English Mediated Instruction".

The Institute for Multilingualism carries out research on applied linguistics. It also ensures language quality at UIC Barcelona, manages and promotes multilingualism and sociocultural enrichment and seeks to improve the language skills of the entire university community: students, teaching staff and administration staff.
