Josep Lluís takes part in a conference on the Aran Valley's architectural heritage
On 22, 23, 24 and 25 September, the PatriARQ Architectural Heritage Research Group, coordinated by the director of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, Professor Josep Lluís i Ginovart, organised a conference on the Aran Valley's architectural heritage. The conference was held in both Lleida and the valley itself.
The first day of the conference featured three talks on various different heritage interventions, which took place at the University of Lleida. One such presentation was delivered by Mónica López Piquer, architect and researcher at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, under the title "Analogia històrica. L’estudi de l’esglèsia de Sant Pèir d'Escunhau" [Historical Analogy: A Study on the Sant Pèir Church in Escunhau]. In the afternoon, the participants visited the exhibition "Glèises en Encurnanclinc de voutes Esgarramingades", which will remain on display until 2 October, at the Lleida Studies Institute.
On Friday 23, the head of the General Council of the Aran Valley, Carlos Barrera Sánchez, along with the other council members, greeted our representatives and the students who attended the event. On Saturday and Sunday, following the conclusion of the conference, participants were given the opportunity to visit several churches in the Aran Valley and were treated to unique sites and unforgettable experiences.
