Students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Law, the MUA and the postgraduate degree in Compliance and Cybersecurity received their sashes as part of the graduation ceremony held on 6 June

The students of the Degree in Law, the Master's Degree in Law (MUA) and the Postgraduate Degree in Compliance and Cybersecurity of the Faculty of Law graduated on 6 June in the Aula Magna of the Barcelona Campus. Lecturer and lawyer, co-founder partner of AVQ and head of the Corporate and Commercial Department, Xavier Amat Badrinas, was the patron of this year’s ceremony, and he shared words of pride and joy and also tips for facing the working world. “You have to be professional and work with honesty and compassion, but above all work to serve, which means to love, doing your best for the world,” he said in his commencement speech.

The event was chaired by the dean of the faculty, Dr María Fernández Arrojo, who also shared a few words with the graduating students to thank them for choosing UIC Barcelona “in this fundamental stage of life”: “Do not forget the values we have conveyed to you over the years: always seek the truth and work well with a spirit of public service. This stage is over, but your connection to the University is not,” explained the dean.

During the event, class representative also gave a speech: “We have a dizzying path full of doubts ahead of us, but we are not afraid, the future is possible,” said the student after thanking parents and teachers for their work and help over the last four years. The student Carlota Friguls was recognised with the Extraordinary End Degree Award.

The ceremony ended with the singing of the University’s traditional hymn “Gaudeamus Igitur”.

This event welcomes all new graduates to the Alumni UIC Barcelona community.
