Leadership, the central theme of the second training meeting for executives at UIC Barcelona

Once again, members of the Board of Governors and the faculty boards at our university received a training session that was organised by Human Resources. More than fifty people participated in the session.

This year the topic covered was leadership for good governance. For that reason, the main talk was given by Esther Jiménez, dean of the Faculty of Education and an expert in leadership, who talked about the role of leaders in the configuration of culture.

Both Esther Jiménez and professor Nuria Chinchilla have been working with IESE since 2012, teaching various programmes. During her talk there was an open debate about the different models and how all of them can be positive depending on the situation.

The second session was given by Lluís Casado, a psychologist and economist, and Guy Giménez, holder of a diploma in Business Leadership.  The two speakers are experts in organisational behaviour: change management, innovation, conflict and leadership in complex and highly uncertain situations. In the first part of the session, the collective intelligence model was presented as a tool for good team leadership, and then a role play activity was carried out in multidisciplinary teams. All the attendees participated so that each of them could provide their own perspective.
