“Learning how to love” the first cycle of talks on affective-sexual education aimed at UIC Barcelona students.
Organised by the Institute for Advanced Family Studies (IESF) and coordinated by Pilar Lacorte, the academic director of the IESF, five workshop-sessions have been organised throughout February and March to be given by a married couple consisting of Nuria Marcet, and architect, and Juanjo Sanz, a Medical Doctor. They are both affective-sexual education counsellors and have received master’s degrees in marriage and family science from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute.
The topics that were tackled included; The human body as a personal language; Sexuality, sex and genitality; Understanding and valuing fertility; The task of moving from attraction to love and Educating your feelings. Talking about these issues provided an opportunity for the twenty students who attended to look at the anthropological reality of human love in a more reflective way.
In the opinion of Pilar Lacorte, this cycle will allow attendees to rediscover the relational meaning of the body and sexuality, through the didactic medium of dialogue.
