Lula Criado and Meritxell Rosell, editors of Clot Magazine, give a talk as part of the “Genetic Architectures Seminar” series
Entitled "Bio Art and the crossover of art and science", on 3 March Lula Criado and Meritxell Rosell gave a talk at UIC Barcelona’s School of Architecture. The talk was given as part of the University Master’s Degree in Biodigital Architecture, directed by Professor Alberto T. Estévez.
Clot Magazine is available online and it curates and publishes works and projects that have emerged from the crossover between art and science. Bio.Art.Tech is a hybrid art form that questions the limits of both science and scientific research. It explores the consequences of the alteration of nature through manipulation, audience participation and the reflections that are generated based on research. The most recent trends in this transgressive movement also include genetics and cell biology, biotechnology and ecology, the altered body and bio-performance, kinetics, as well as biorobotics, artificial life and synthetic biology.
Holder of a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry and a PhD in Molecular Genetics, Lula Criado is Editor-In-Chief of Clot Magazine. In Barcelona, after completing a Postgraduate degree in “Coolhunting and Trends”, she discovered a passion for trends, and after writing for various media sources, subsequently founded Clot Magazine. Meritxell Rosell, an editor of the magazine, holds a degree in Biology and a PhD in Biomedicine and Biochemistry as well as a Postgraduate degree in Philosophy.
