Marc and Alex Grau take part in the Roller Hockey King’s Cup with C. H. Lloret

Twins Marc and Alex Grau, 5th-year Dentistry students, recently qualified for the quarter-finals of the Roller Hockey King’s Cup with their team, C. H. Lloret, which competes in the Spanish roller hockey league, OK Liga.

Passionate about roller hockey, both Marc and Alex confess that, “when we began the Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry, we had major doubts about whether we’d be able to combine elite sport with university studies. But we’ve managed to complete our education as dentists and continue as athletes thanks to good organisation, hard work and a desire to achieve our dreams”.

The two brothers play for C. H. Lloret, a team that competes in OK Liga, and have had the opportunity to participate in the Roller Hockey King’s Cup the past two years. As elite athletes, the Grau brothers explain that hockey “has taught us some extremely important values which we try to apply to daily life at the University, such as commitment, team work and peaceful coexistence with both teammates and classmates”.

Following graduation in June, Marc and Alex will continue their studies in the Faculty of Dentistry as residents in Surgical Techniques and Implantology, respectively. “We will keep studying and playing hockey as long as we can, though it’s clear dentistry is our future”.
