Master’s and bachelor’s degree students participate as volunteers at 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress (MWC)

Twelve master’s and bachelor’s degree students from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences participated as volunteers at 4YFN and MWC

The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences signed an agreement with the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation through which some students from the Faculty could work as volunteers for the organisation and development of  4YFN (4 Years From Now) during its 2017 edition.

The participants were:  Gerard Usero, Marc Clotet, Clara Usandizaga, Marta Pericas, Jorge García, Irene Elizalde, Ignacio Ollero, from the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.  Also Luca Airola, Maud Benoit, Luigi Burlando, Elena Lancianese, and Martina Di Bari, from the University Master’s degree in Business Administration and Production Systems.

Some of the students described their experiences as follows:

Luca Airola (master’s student)

4YFN and the Mobile World Congress were an excellent experience!  I worked as a volunteer at the Exhibitor Service Desk, helping exhibitors to resolve logistical problems, provide them with information and give them some general support.

I am passionate about technology and I took full advantage of the experience, since this is one of the best congresses in the world for mobile technology and also for highly innovative start-ups.

I really enjoyed every day 100%, while networking with start-up companies and technological companies.  I learned a lot about new trends in the world of mobiles and I was able to witness new innovations.  If I can I would love to go back next year!

Clara Usandizaga (bachelor’s degree student)

The truth is that it was a great opportunity and a really good experience.  We had the opportunity to listen to speeches and “pitches” from interesting start-ups and we were also able to attend the MWC during the Thursday session.

Elena Lancianese (master’s student)

I really appreciated the opportunity to be a volunteer at the MWC. It was a highly exciting and educational experience.  I was a setting-up volunteer and was also on the Exhibitors Service Desk. This gave me the opportunity to see everything that can happen (the good and the bad) at such a big event at first hand. It was also a great opportunity to do some networking.  Thank you so much, UIC Barcelona!
