Mathias Simon, Paul Fauris and Raul Navarro win second prize in the Best Scientific Paper category at the congress “Fascia: Scientific Advances”

The three students, anatomy residents and third-year students in the Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy, were honoured at the congress “Fascia: Scientific Advances”, organised by the Tupimek School for Myofascial Therapies and the ONCE University School of Physiotherapy.

At the 28th edition of this professional gathering held in Madrid, third-year Physiotherapy students Paul Fauris, Mathias Simon and Raul Navarro presented their work “Anatomic study of the temporal fascia”, which earned them second prize in the Best Scientific Paper category. According to the authors, “our study looks at the fascia that cover the Temporalis muscle, a key structure in numerous physiotherapeutic and surgical treatments. Working together on this project has helped us acquire and increase our knowledge of research methodology, and enhance our curriculum. We are also certain this experience will make it easier to write our Final Degree Projects”.

Under the title “Fascia: Scientific Advances”, the ONCE University School of Physiotherapy (affiliated with the Autonomous University of Madrid) co-organised, along with the Tupimek School for Myofascial Therapies, a new edition of this Physiotherapy congress. Over the course of three days, attendees had the chance to see the most innovative advances in the field and hear from renowned researchers, such as Thomas Findley, César Fernández, Andrzej Pilat, Maribel Miguel and Robert Schleip.
