Miguel Ángel Cazcarra, new president of the Board of Trustees at UIC Barcelona

Josep Maria Pujol, president of Ficosa Internacional, has given his place Cazcarra, after 19 years as president of the Board of Trustees at this private university.

The Board of Trustees at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) agreed in their session on Tuesday 5 September to appoint Mr Miguel Ángel Cazcarra as the new president of the University Board of Trustees, a position which until now had been held by Josep M. Pujol, president of Ficosa Internacional.

Miguel Ángel Cazcarra, who until now was a spokesperson for the Board of Trustees, has taken over the presidency thus providing continuity to the university’s work. The university was founded in 1997 by the Catalan Family Foundation.  This was a natural step to take after Josep Maria Pujol‘s 19 years at the head of the Board. Cazcarra (Barcelona, 1958) is married, holds a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and is a businessman from the transport sector and also an executive in various businesses.

Josep Maria Pujol’s contribution has been crucial in terms of the development and growth of UIC Barcelona which, in only 20 years, has managed to achieve a place among the top three best non-profit private universities in Spain.
