Nebrera takes part in an event analysing young people's participation in the EU
The gathering was held at the European Union Commission office in Barcelona
On 14 February, Montserrat Nebrera, a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, took part in the event “What can you do for Europe?”, which took place in the EU Commission office in Barcelona and was organised by the European Student Think Tank.
The conference was held in efforts to find ways of encouraging participation by European citizens, particularly young people, and in doing so bolster their commitment to the European Union project.
During her talk, Nebrera stressed the values of peace and solidarity that lead to tolerance and pluralism. The lecturer was joined by Xavi Ferrer, director of the Catalan Council of the European Movement (CCME), who explained the story behind the European Union. Other participants included the head of the EU Commission office in Barcelona, Ferran Tarradellas, who spoke about the benefits of belonging to a single block comparable in size to other world powers.
