New audiovisual material for our Digital Media Studios
The Faculty of Communication sciences has acquired new audiovisual material for the Digital Media Studios, which means students from the Faculty will be able to work with equipment adapted to the needs of the labour market from their first day.
The new audiovisual material includes 10 Sony Alfa7 II cameras with 18-200mm lenses, a Metabones adaptor for Canon lenses, UV and ND filters, transportation bags, 32GB SD cards and 30 batteries. The video equipment was also extended, through the purchase of five Pro 546BK Manfrotto tripods and MVH502A aluminium tripod legs.
Ten professional video editing stations have been refurbished with Z240 HP Workstations with 32GB of Ram, 27 inch screens, Premiere Pro keyboards, Yamaha auto-amplified speakers and microphones for narration purposes. All of these to be used in conjunction with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc. At five of these stations Avid Media Composer is available, a video editing programme that is known due to its presence in the TV and film markets. Apart from the ten fully-equipped editing rooms, the Faculty has also acquired twenty five more Adobe CC licences for classroom B214.
In the radio studio the server and broadcaster stations have been replaced so as to update the whole Dalet system and the sound card. The opportunity to be able to launch any content online and live has been added, as well as the chance to record interviews via Skype or by connecting smartphones to the mixing table. This year programme presenters will have a computer in the editing room so they can modify the programme playlist in real time.
