The new Master's Degree in Venture Capital and Private Equity has been launched

On Monday 18 September UIC Barcelona welcomed the first group of students starting their Master's Degree in Venture Capital and Private Equity.

The Master’s degree, which is offered in conjunction with KPMG, is a programme that is unique in terms of learning about venture capital. KPMG also offer an associated grant for this course.  Classes are all taught in English and the course is particularly aimed at people who would like to specialise in venture capital, private equity, transaction services and business financing.

In her welcome speech Dr Marta Mas, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, underlined the fact the master’s students are international and stated that this “will be highly important in terms of your enrichment and the personal and professional opportunities you will have”.

Dr Mas also underlined the city of Barcelona as an exceptional place to study a master’s degree on venture capital since, in her own words “it is currently positioning itself as a city that is a hub for entrepreneurs and an incubator for start-ups” and, in that sense, stated that “we hope it will offer you a lot of opportunities”.

Dr Francesc Prior, director of the Master’s degree, also participated in the opening session.  Classes will take place between Monday and Friday in the afternoon and is a ten-month programme.
