Nursing Professors awarded at a conference held by the Les Vetes Foundation

Maria Ángeles de Juan, Marian Cerezuela, Maria Luisa Martín and Manuel Aranda recently received the award for Best Oral Paper for their paper entitled “Diseño de materiales educativos para personas mayores” [The design of educational material for older people] in Salt, Girona. The Salt Les Vetes Foundation recently held a conference entitled “És posible el sobreenvelliment actiu? Teixint el futur” [Is active overaging possible? Weaving our future]. The activity was recognised as being of interest in the area of healthcare by the General Directorate for Professional Healthcare Organisation and Regulation in the Catalan Government.  UIC Barcelona cooperated in the organisation of the Conference along with the University of Girona, the Chair for Health Promotion in the University of Girona itself, the Girona Medical and Healthcare Sciences Group and the Official Association of Nurses in Girona.  

The speakers included Maria Luisa Martín Ferreres, a professor from UIC Barcelona, who participated in the round table on ethics in caregiving. The prize consisted of a collection of books from the Panamericana Publishing House which will be set aside for the AIDIR Unit in the Pere Virgili Healthcare Park.
