One of our Professors from the Faculty of Humanities recently attended a summit in Vravrona

Mohammed Hassan Elrazzaz, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona, participated in the Euromed Summit of Economic & Social Councils as a representative of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). The summit was held in Vravrona (Greece) on 24 and 25 October.

The summit was dedicated to debating and exchanging opinions and experiences related to regional challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean area:  migration, refugees, female empowerment, as well as the role civil society plays in facing these challenges.

The First Minister of Greece gave the opening speech at the summit and the UfM participated with a talk in the inaugural session, presenting the activities and efforts carried out by the UfM. The UfM does so as a platform for regional dialogue and a promoter of female empowerment, youth employment and sustainable and inclusive development.

Mohamed Hassan Elrazzaz is a member of the Office of the Secretary General for the Union for the Mediterranean and represented that organisation along with Sergi Farré, Diplomatic Advisor and Spokesperson for the UfM.
