Open Day at the School of Architecture in UIC Barcelona

On Saturday 21 November the School of Architecture in UIC Barcelona held an open day. Students, professors, family members and people interested in studying architecture were able to find out in detail about the studies taught in the school and about professional opportunities. They also had the chance to take a look at the projects that had been created by first year through to fifth year students.

The participants in the open day were able to visit the school's facilities and walk around an exhibition of the projects created by current students.

On the same day, students from Projects 1 and Projects 5 presented their projects before a jury consisting of invited professors. The architect Guido Geenen participated as a member of the jury for the final corrections given to the Projects 5 group from fourth year, coordinated by the professor and holder of a doctorate in architecture Dr Carmen Mendoza. He is the founder of one of the most international architectural firms in Belgium, WIT Architecten. He is also a professor in the prestigious University of Leuven, in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences within their Department of Architecture.

Professor Sandra Manninger and her students from Taubman College in the University of Michigan, one of the twenty best universities in the world, took part in the final jury of Projects 1 for second year students directed by Professor Alberto T. Estévez.

The next UIC Barcelona School of Architecture Open Day will be held on 9 April and is particularly aimed at those who are interested in taking a bachelor's degree in architecture.
