Over 550 students start academic year on Sant Cugat campus

On top of the existing healthcare programmes, new degrees in psychology and biomedcal science broaden the academic offer on the campus

The Sant Cugat campus welcomed more than 550 new students starting their university studies this academic year. The Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare Sciences has grown to include two new programmes this academic year in psychology and biomedical science. The Sant Cugat campus now also has a brand-new teaching clinic on its premises with the opening of Support University Psychology and Psychiatry Clinic

The two new programmes have been created with a view to train healthcare professionals able to respond to current societal needs. From day one, psychology students will learn the importance of treating patients in a comprehensive manner and they will be confronted with real-life cases in the newly opened university clinic. Biomedical science students, for their part, will gain in-depth knowledge of how the body works and they will find out about human pathologies which will allow them to move forward with research on how to treat them.
