The painter Martín García, a lecturer who is full of art

The artist gave a live painting demonstration to students taking a subject on contemporary culture.

Contemporary culture students from the Faculty of Humanities recently experienced a very special class with painter Martín García. The artist, who has been painting for 50 years, worked in front of students.

As part of this subject which is taught by Judith Urbano, García talked about the artistic techniques found in Romanticism, Neoclassicism and Realism, among others. Martín García has painted portraits of the Spanish Royal Family and Queen Elisabeth II of England.

The class ended with the invited lecturer painting live using different techniques such as oils, grisaille and pastels. Based on these examples, students were able to see the difference between the styles of famous artists such as Eugène Delacroix.
