PEA students participate in a new ‘Consulting Competition’ on university technology and innovation

Recently students with the best academic records participated in a new Consulting Competition focusing on two projects. Out of the eight teams, two were voted best in their corresponding category.

On 14 December, students from the Academic Excellence Programme (PEA) at UIC Barcelona set up eight teams to participate in a new edition of the Consulting Competition. This is an event that aims to bring the business world together through a competition in which strategies and teamwork are awarded.

The first project focused on the application of technology to transport methods to generate new business ideas. The second focused on the application of strategic and innovative actions in a university environment.

Each team had to develop their strategy and present it before a jury, but only two of them were awarded.  The winning team in the first case contained the following members: Jaime Asens, Josep Santasusana, Josep Viñolas, Josep Maria Farrés, Maria Charaf-Eddine and Sara Cáceres. The jury which evaluated the different proposals consisted of the following consultants and experts: Carles Escribano, Alice Aguiar and Adrián Guerrero.

In the second category, innovation in a university environment, Anna Viñals, Laura Arce, Ivo Durán, David Chasco and Mateo García were the winners. In this case, the jury consisted of Luis Jover, Noelia Jiménez-Asenjo and Sofía Alcibar.

Out of all the projects that were presented the difficulty of the challenge was evaluated, as well as teamwork, the clarity and realistic nature of the project and the students’ public speaking skills.
