Pilar Fernández Bozal, Dean of the Faculty of Law at UIC Barcelona

At the suggestion of the Board of Trustees Pilar Fernández Bozal was recently appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law by the Board of Governors at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona). The new Dean is a former Minister for Justice and the partner responsible for public law at EY.

Pilar Fernández Bozal (Barcelona, 1963) is the partner responsible for public law at EY España, where she has been working since 2013.  She was formerly Minister for Justice in the Catalan Government (2010-2012), a state lawyer for Catalonia (2007-2010) and a state lawyer for the Government Delegation in Catalonia (1992-2006).

Fernández Bozal, who until now was a member of the University Advisory Council, is grateful for the trust UIC Barcelona has placed in him after choosing him as the new Dean of the Faculty and states that he will work to “achieve better positioning for the Faculty of Law both in the university world and also in the professional market”.  In relation to the courses available, the Dean states that “We would like to make the Faculty become a centre of excellence, by designing attractive master’s and postgraduate degrees for students that are also valued by professionals”.

The new Dean has taken over from Dr María Fernández Arrojo. The latter will continue to be a member of the Faculty Board and vice-dean for students.
