Professor Domingo publishes a scientific article on higher education from a ‘do it yourself’ perspective

Her research has been published in the scientific journal entitled “Educación XX1”

Professor Maria Domingo recently published an article entitled “Transforming the teaching and learning culture in higher education from a DIY perspective” in the scientific journal entitled “Educación XX1”,  edited by the Spanish National Distance Education University (UNED).

The article highlights the transformation of learning practices and the roles of lecturers or professors and students.  “Specifically, we have managed to promote a proactive attitude among teachers and students in terms of the regulation of learning and varying the role of students” said Domingo.

The article was written as a result of a European project entitled Do it Yourself in Education, undertaken in primary and secondary schools and higher education in Spain, Finland and the Czech Republic. This project aims to incorporate types of learning that are related to Do It Yourself culture in the institutions involved, thus promoting creativity, cooperation, self-regulation, authorship and sharing and using digital technology in a critical way.

The “Educación XX1” journal contributes to the dissemination of educational research. It prioritises publications related to higher education, good practices in educational interventions in higher education and quality and innovation in teacher training.
