Professor Elizabeth Alsen from the University of Lapland visits UIC Barcelona as part of the Erasmus+ programme

She took advantage of her stay to inaugurate the Postgraduate Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

From 7-11 January, Elizabeth Alsen, a professor from the University of Lapland (Finland), visited the Faculty of Education as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

For the second straight year, Alsen took advantage of her visit to inaugurate the Postgraduate Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Elizabeth spoke about Teaching English as a Foreign Language in the context of Finland and delivered specific content from the postgraduate programme’s first subject, on the evolution of the English language from an historical perspective.

Alsen also had the opportunity to observe the work done in several of the classes taught in English in the Faculty of Education, exchanging views on how to assess language learning beyond content in a more explicit manner.
