The journalist and faculty lecturer Jordi Fernández Moreno has been appointed chief of the Europa Press news agency’s Catalonia bureau. He is replacing Anna Cristeto, who has been tapped to be the next editor-in-chief of El Periódico de Catalunya.

The lecturer, who teaches the subject “Written Communication” for the Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, joined the agency in 1997 and has been editor-in-chief since July 2007.  

Fernández holds a degree in journalism from Pompeu Fabra University and in history from the University of Barcelona. He has collaborated with several media outlets, in addition to combining his journalism career with his career in teaching.
