Professor Montserrat Gas publishes a new book on Canon Law
This book received contributions from jurists in different areas of Canon Law
Montserrat Gas, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, has published a book entitled “Nuevos Desafíos del Derecho Canónico a cien años de la primera codificación”, containing contributions from various jurists. Some of the new challenges in the new legal regulations of the contemporary Church on the occasion of of 100 years since the first codification are described in this book.
All of the contributors are university professors and experts in Ecclesiastic Law, and the book focuses on important topics in present and future Canon Law such as the decentralisation of Church organisation, managing its assets and the need for criminal law, among others.
Additionally, the book’s prologue was written by Rafael Navarro-Valls, emeritus professor of Canon Law and president of the Legal Academies of Iberoamerica. Other international canonists were also involved in this publication.
