Professor Tintoré studies educational leadership in Portugal during her stay in Porto

The idea is to prepare leadership narratives and case studies to help guide professional training.

Lecturer Mireia Tintoré recently undertook a research stay in the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, where she studied and compiled data on educational leadership in Portugal. The aim is to identify common practices across all geographic and sociocultural contexts.

During her research visit, Tintoré had the opportunity to expand on a project she has been involved with for the past five years, which consists of recording the life stories of school directors.

So far, she has collected life stories from individuals in Spain, Ibero-America and the United States. Currently, with the help of six Portuguese researchers from the project EDUGest, she is interviewing 25 Portuguese school directors who are renowned for their leaderships qualities.

The idea behind the research is to prepare leadership narratives and case studies that can be used in courses aimed at training educational leaders.

In addition to the research on life stories, the lecturer also took advantage of the stay to establish partnerships between the UCP and UIC Barcelona for other educational leadership projects.
