Salvador Vidal publishes an article in a journal specialising in Education entitled “Harvard Deusto: Learning & Pedagogics”

The Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education at UIC Barcelona, Salvador Vidal, recently published an article entitled “El día del número, aprender matemáticas jugando”. He wrote it for the “Harvard Deusto: Learning & Pedagogics” journal.

Salvador Vidal, who teaches the Didactics of Mathematics in the Faculty of Education, defends the idea that "competence-based learning has to provide a degree of personal autonomy in a globalised world in which people need each other" in his article.

In it he narrates his experience in a school he worked in, on Number Day.  They decided to prepare a talk that was more fun, although always based on the objective of learning.  83% of the professors said that it was a highly motivating way to teach, while 91% of the students enjoyed learning about mathematics in a different way.

As a result of this celebration, Vidal stated that "there have been various publications related to this idea which have been disseminated to other centres in this country and in Latin America".

The “Harvard Deusto: Learning & Pedagogics” journal is seeking a new concept for education journals.  It provides a selection of the best articles and ideas arising from the most prestigious schools in the world, and includes viewpoint from internatinal experts along with the participation of entities and professionals from the Spanish-speaking educational field.
