Students and teaching staff from the School of Architecture take part in the 22@Update Breakfast

On 25 February, fourth year students from the School of Architecture, along with the lecturers and architects Felip Pich Aguilera and Iñaki Baquero, took part in the latest edition of the 22@Update Breakfast: “Architecture and companies, a challenge”, organised by the 22@Network BCN Association.

This time round, the event dealt with the relationship between the university and companies in the context of superblocks and the challenges they present. Felip Pich Aguilera, from the studio Pich Architects, along with Iñaki Bakero, from the BOPBAA studio, led the first part of the event with a lecture entitled “Supereixample”, which discussed how the introduction of superblocks could affect sustainability in Barcelona. Next, School of Architecture students Marta Delgado and Anna Mirapeix presented both projects and proposals for cooperation with companies from the 22@ NetworkBCN.

During the 2015-2016 academic year, students taking the Projects course are collaborating with the Association of Companies 22@ NetworkBCN. The collaboration consists of designing viable strategies for a 22@ superblock in the Poble Nou district, as part of Barcelona City Council’s new Mobility Plan.

The 22@Update Breakfast is a get-together for the exchange of innovative ideas which takes place every month in the offices of the various companies and institutions of Barcelona’s 22@ district, with the aim of getting to know more about the activity and the setting of each of its stakeholders in situ.
