Students from the Faculty of Law are introduced to the Legal Advisory Committee by the president
Dr Albert Lamarca is the president of the Legal Advisory Committee to the Catalan Government. On Wednesday 25 January he gave a talk entitled «The Legal Advisory Committee» to students from the Faculty of Law as part of a series of continuing education conferences organised by the Faculty.
The Committee was set up in 1931, based on Catalan autonomy introduced through the Second Republic, and re-established in 1978, at the same time as the Catalan Generalitat, which was set up as the government of Catalonia within the framework of the new Regional States. The essential function of this committee is to guarantee the legality and the protection of the rights of citizens as well as to avoid legal conflicts between institutions or with citizens and also ensure the efficiency of administrative action.
The speaker presented the institution and gave a description of its objectives and its structure, as well as the projects and actions it has carried out over the past three years in the different fields the committee has been assigned.
