Students from the Master’s Degree in Cultural Management visit the prestigious Sala Parés

The students were given a tour of Spain’s first gallery, which opened in 1877, and had the chance to meet its president, Joan Anton Maragall.

On Tuesday 21 November, the students from the Master’s Degree in Cultural Management at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) stepped out of the classroom and visited the prestigious Sala Parés.

The students toured the gallery alongside two lecturers from the Faculty of Humanities, Dr Sergio and Dr Lucía Pérez. They all then attended a session on the history and management of the company by the president of Sala Parés, Joan Anton Maragall.

Sala Parés, Spain’s first gallery, which opened in 1877, is located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. The building is home to three halls with works by 34 artists.
