Students from the University Master's Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems at the IOTSWC

On 25, 26 and 27 October, students from the University Master's Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems attended the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC). The congress was held in the Gran Vía part of the Fira de Barcelona building.

The concept of the internet of things originated from the United States, inside the Auto-ID Center at MIT (1997) where research was carried out into the field of network based radio-frequency identification (RFID) and sensor technology.  This term is currently used to describe an advanced connection between everyday objects, devices, systems and services through the use of technology.

In this year’s edition, the IOTSWC was divided into seven large areas (Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics, Health, Energy, Technology and Innovation). With more than 171 exhibitors from more than 70 countries, students were able to observe at first-hand how the IOT is radically changing traditional business models.
