The three professors from the Faculty of Law have been recognised by the directory Best Lawyers International 2016, a ranking published in almost 70 countries. The 23rd edition of this ranking includes 54,905 lawyers from 140 practice areas and is based on over 7.3 million detailed peer reviews. 

Alberto Heras has been an associate lecturer in Finance-Tax Law in UIC Barcelona's Faculty of Law since 2001. Since 2013, he has been a member and head of the Tax Department at the Barcelona office of Ramón y Cajal Abogados. He has extensive experience as a corporate tax advisor, as well as in corporate restructuring processes and tax proceedings for multinational groups and family businesses. Heras has appeared in the Best Lawyers list since 2014, in the area of Tax Law. 

Xavier Amat is partner and co-founder of the firm Amat & Vidal-Quadras and head of the Corporate Department. His expertise lies in the areas of Corporate Law, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments in Spain, Capital Market Law and Real Estate Law. He is currently the director of Corporate Law at UIC Barcelona. Amat has been listed by Best Lawyers since 2008, in the area of Corporate and M&A Litigation. 

Miguel Vidal-Quadras holds a doctorate in Law and is partner and head of the Department of Intellectual and Industrial Property at Amat & Vidal-Quadras. At UIC Barcelona he is a lecturer in Corporate Law and director of the European Master's Degree in Business Law and Industrial and Intellectual Property. Since 2010, he has directed the webpage on intellectual and industrial property entitled "Las Claves del Derecho". His expertise lies in the areas of industrial and intellectual property, competition, advertising, technology transfer and pharmaceutical law. Vidal-Quadras has been listed by Best Lawyers since 2013, in the area of Intellectual Property, the category in which in 2013 he was named Lawyer of the Year.
