The rector of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona), Xavier Gil, and the director-general of the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), Alberto Hernández, recently signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the University Master’s Degree in Cybercrime. 

The main objective of this agreement is to promote courses in the field of Cybercrime, which has resulted in INCIBE joining the Advisory Council for the master’s degree taught by the Faculty of Law. 

This advisory body, chaired by magistrate Eloy Velasco, is made up of representatives from both public and private institutions, as well as from sectors and professional groups associated with cybercrime and cybersecurity. 

Its main functions include advising the directors of the Master’s Degree on curriculum quality; making specific proposals to improve the academic programmes; suggesting actions and strategies for building bridges for cooperation with institutions from other countries; and pushing for new lines of work and research.

Present at the signing event on Thursday were the rector of the University, the director-general of INCIDE, the dean of the Faculty of Law, Pilar Fernández, and the director of the Master’s Degree.
