UIC Barcelona attended the NAFSA conference in New Orleans

The University's International Relations Service Team attended the conference, which was run by the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), under the slogan "Resilience. Renewal. Community”. Universities from all over the world were invited to attend the event, which aims to promote the value of international education

Universities from around the world came together from 27 to 31 May in New Orleans, United States, to exchange ideas and discuss the international impact of higher education. Reetta Heikkinen, head of International Agreements, and Mariloli Cámara, Communication, Short Programmes and COIL Coordinator, represented UIC Barcelona as part of a delegation from Catalan universities.

The week served to strengthen existing relationships with partner universities, and to establish key contacts with institutions in America and Canada for future collaborations. The conference also included networking opportunities and training sessions on internationalisation in university education.

During their stay, the International Relations Service Team also visited Pace University in New York, where they signed an agreement for a double degree between the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Law and Pace University’s LLM in Environmental Law.

This year, more than 7,000 visitors from 120 countries attended the conference, consolidating NAFSA’s position as the world's largest international non-profit association dedicated to university education.
