UIC Barcelona celebrates Radio Day with APM?, workshops and live music

The radio show, which airs on Catalunya Ràdio, was broadcast live from Passeig de la Fontana following the activities carried out by the students. The festivities ended with a session by DJ Brian Cross.

On 19 April, the magic of radio turned Passieg de la Fontana into an open-air studio. The university community celebrated its particular Radio Day with a line-up of activities for students, lecturers and staff, which culminated in a visit by the team from the show APM?, on Catalunya Ràdio, and Europa FM’s DJ Brian Cross.

In the morning, members of the Faculty of Communication Sciences took turns reading excerpts from the text entitled “Journey to the centre of the radio”. They then took part in a voice workshop led by radio speech expert Emma Rodero.

In the afternoon, the team from APM?, on Catalunya Ràdio, took centre stage with a live stream broadcast of their show, taking over from journalist Mònica Terribas.

Xavi Cazorla, Romeu Tendrum, Montse Barcón and Jordi Asturgó brought the reality of the studio to the university with their particular sense of humour and live contests. There was also no shortage of imitations, like those by radio journalists Carlos Herrera, Maria de la Pau Janer and Jesús Cárdenas, in which several students took part.

Afterwards, Europa FM’s DJ Brian Cross played an hour’s worth of current songs, putting the finishing touch on a unique frequency-related event.
