UIC Barcelona delivers a donation of 500 euros to the Pro Vida Foundation

The Pro Vida Foundation Catalonia recently received a donation of 500 euros from Laura García-Faria, a former UIC Barcelona Medicine student. García-Faria won a raffle held for former students organised by Alumni&Careers as part of the #UICAlumniXmasTree Christmas campaign.

The winner of the raffle was able to choose the NGO they wanted to give their prize to.  The donation was delivered on 16 January to the Pro Vida Foundation Catalonia headquarters. The director of the Pro Vida Foundation Sandra Ruffini, the patron of the foundation, Isabel Joly, and the director of Alumni&Careers, Inmaculada Ortega all attended the event, along with Laura García-Faria.

The Pro Vida Foundation’s Women’s Shelter and Support Centre has been housing pregnant women with serious personal, social or economic problems since 1987. The aim behind this is for these women to be able to exercise their right to have the child they are expecting, in the best possible conditions.

After this event, the Pro Vida Foundation Catalonia and UIC Barcelona manifested a desire to work together on new projects in the future, setting up initiatives that specifically involve the university’s alumni community.
