UIC Barcelona exhibits at the Saló de l'Ensenyament with an employment rate of 93.75%
The university reaches an all-time high, according to the latest 2023 employability survey by AQU Catalunya. Once again UIC Barcelona has participated in the Saló de l’Ensenyament, where it has presented its academic programmes: 16 bachelor’s degrees, more than 15 double degrees and 38 double international degrees
Once again UIC Barcelona has presented its academic programme at the Saló de l'Ensenyament, supported by the high employment rate of its graduates. According to the latest 2023 Employability Survey presented by AQU Catalunya, UIC Barcelona has reached an all-time high in the employability index with a value of 93.75%. The employment of UIC Barcelona graduates is above the system average and, according to the survey, eight out of ten graduates develop specific skills they learned in the degree in their work.
UIC Barcelona has a wide range of training that is characterised by individualised attention to students in an environment where 106 nationalities coexist. The ultimate goal is to offer quality teaching where people are at the centre, training them in critical thinking and promoting a mindset of solidarity.
At the University stand the rector of UIC Barcelona, Alfonso Méndiz, greeted the minister for Research and Universities Joaquim Nadal i Farreras during the opening ceremony, with whom he exchanged words and highlighted the high rate of employment of the University: “We are very proud that UIC Barcelona has reached such a high employability rate, as it shows that our graduates have a good entry into the labour market,” the rector told the minister.
Espai Ciència
As a University committed to research and the transfer of knowledge to society, UIC Barcelona will also be present at Espai Ciència this year with workshops related to bioengineering, biomedicine and physiotherapy. With the aim of showing young people the research and innovation that UIC Barcelona develops in these fields, attendees who come to Espai Ciència will be able to explore the world of health and rehabilitation through physiotherapy, discover how the world around us can inspire the design of biomaterials applicable to bioengineering, or become biomedical scientists for a day experimenting with tissues and bacteria.
Presence in rankings
The UIC Barcelona project is supported by its presence in national and international rankings. In the first edition of the international ranking QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024, focused on European universities, UIC Barcelona was ranked =398 out of a total of 688 higher education institutions.
Among the different indicators that make up this ranking, UIC Barcelona stands out in Teacher-Student Ratio, where it occupies the first position nationally. In the 2024 edition UIC Barcelona ranked for the first time in Social Sciences in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject, and has maintained its ranking in Clinical and Health.
In addition to its presence in the rankings, UIC Barcelona has received international accreditations of quality, especially in the field of Dentistry. The University was the first in Spain to obtain accreditation from the American Dental Association (ADA), which recognises institutions and organisations that offer continuing education for dental professionals and that have high quality standards.
