UIC Barcelona is looking at further options for cooperation and mobility with universities abroad

In March the International Relations Service at UIC Barcelona received some visits from the Manhattan Institute of Management and the Panamerican University (UP) and also arranged some visits to the University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews. These visits form part of the action plan to explore opportunities for cooperation and mobility with universities around the world.

The aim of the meeting with the Manhattan Institute of Management, located next to Wall Street, was to study opportunities for cooperation with their degree programmes in Law, Communication and Business Administration and Management so that our students can spend six months there, while studying and gaining work experience. It is the first university to offer UIC Barcelona students the opportunity to undertake work experience in the United States while they are studying.

On the other hand, representatives of the Panamerican University, founded 50 years ago, came along to try to reach agreements to set up double international degrees in the area of cultural management and begin to work together in the field of psychology research. It is an internationally renowned university due to its academic excellence, ethics and Christian view of life, characteristics that promote a relationship with UIC Barcelona.

Finally, Vice-Rector Jaume Armengou visited the University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews to explore opportunities for Erasmus exchanges, double degree programmes, summer schools and other opportunities for cooperation depending on specific needs. These are two universities that have educated Nobel Prize winners and have achieved global recognition for their academic excellence: the University of St Andrews was founded in 1413 and the University of Edinburgh holds position 19 in the QS world university ranking.
