UIC Barcelona, present at the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education conference in Perth (Australia)

The International Relations Service of UIC Barcelona attended the conference organised by the APAIE in March, which brought together universities from all over the world to promote the value of international education in the Asia-Pacific region.

Reetta Heikkinen (Global Collaborations Manager) and Mariloli Camara (Communication, Short Programmes and COIL Coordinator), from the International Relations Service, represented UIC Barcelona at the APAIE Conference (Asian-Pacific Association for International Education) as part of the delegation of Catalan universities. This annual event took place in Perth, Australia, from 5 to 8 March.

Within the framework of the conference, the International Relations team made several visits to local universities: the University of Notre Dame Australia (Sydney and Fremantle), Charles Sturt University (Sydney), University of New South Wales (Sydney), University of Canberra (Canberra), RMIT (Melbourne) and Murdoch University (Perth).

Following the conference, relevant contacts were established for future collaborations with universities in the Asia-Pacific region, a growing geographical area of strategic interest to the University. In addition, existing relationships with partner universities were strengthened.

The two UIC Barcelona representatives also attended networking events organised within the conference, and several training sessions on internationalisation in higher education.

The APAIE 2025 Conference will take place from 24 to 28 March 2025 at the Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Exhibition Centre) in Dwarka, Delhi.
