UIC Barcelona receives the “HR Excellence in Research” quality seal

UIC Barcelona has received recognition via a “HR Excellence in Research” quality seal (HRS4R). This seal, awarded by the Directorate General for Research and Innovation in the European Commission, distinguishes the universities and institutions that generate and support the existence of a stimulating environment that is favourable to research.

In October 2016 the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya signed the “European Researcher Charter” and the “Code of Conduct for Contracting Researchers” with the aim of promoting and improving the employment of researchers and underlining their commitment to the European Commission initiative.

Following recommendations from Europe, and in order to define its “Human Resource Strategy for Researchers” (HRS4R), UIC Barcelona set up two groups, the Working Group, in charge of implementing the process, with the exception of gap analysis and proposing an Action Plan, and a Steering Committee, in charge of supervising the process and defining the Action Plan depending on the Human Resource policies at UIC Barcelona.

In order to undertake the HRS4R process, different stages were carried out. Between March and April 2017 the process to be followed was analysed, as well as its applicability. During May of the same year the Steering Committee was assigned and in September the Working Group was appointed, and the questionnaire and internal analysis were undertaken. Between October-November the gap analysis was carried out. Finally, in January 2018, the actions and approval of the plan of action by the Steering Committee and in March the gap analysis were both published, as well as the university’s plan of action on the website.
