UIC Barcelona signs a mobility agreement with Millikin University (USA) for Communication and Business Administration

Frederic Marimón, vice-dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Carmen Llovet, lecturer in the Faculty of Communication Sciences and Celia Martínez, global partnerships manager at UIC Barcelona met at the start of November with Josefine Malone, international relations assistant, and Carrie Trimble, associate professor of marketing and director of the Center for International Education at Millikin University. During the meeting, they signed a mobility agreement so that business administration and management, journalism, audiovisual communication and advertising students could spend a semester studying at the US university.

Millikin University is a private university located in Decatur, in the centre of the state of Illinois in the United States. This is a strategic location close to the cities of Chicago and St Louis. It is a small university with 2,000 students, meaning that students can get personalised guidance.

In the area of communication, the university has a radio studio. In business, they run an entrepreneurship programme and a subject called “Business conversation” focused on international business. Their programmes are accredited by ACBSP, which guarantees academic excellence. Moreover, they have a wide array of university community activities, such as sports, theatre and an art gallery, some of which are managed by the students themselves.

The second semester starts at the end of January, meaning that any UIC Barcelona students interested will be able to take advantage of the agreement this academic year. They will also be able to attend a summer course in July and August.
