UIC Barcelona students will be able to complete their studies at UCLA

UIC Barcelona and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), have signed an agreement via which UIC Barcelona students can participate in a certificate program in various areas of specialisation.

The agreement will allow UIC Barcelona students who have completed one of the following degrees:  Advertising and Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication, Business Administration and Management (ADE) or Architecture, to take one of the professionalising UCLA extension programmes with a 15% discount.

Students will obtain multiple benefits through this new agreement are: as well as a reduction in the cost of the program, they will have unique opportunities to gain work experience in the United States. On the one hand, it allows students to undertake work experience related to their study programme in the United States while still studying, and on the other hand, it also offers the option to stay and work in the country once the programme is over via a 12-month work permit.

In the words of Isabel Pera, International Relations director at UIC Barcelona “this agreement with UCLA adds new areas of specialisation to the courses the university already offers in Communication, ADE and Architecture. Also, the opportunity to obtain up to two placements in American companies offers both personal and work-related advancement within a cultural ecosystem that is very different to the European one”.
